Online Records Versus the Official File

The free portals are convenient, but they are not the legal record. The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals is the state's court of last resort in criminal matters, and it runs the rule that governs this point. Under OCCA Rule 2.6, the OSCN online case search is a convenient public database that does not replace the official case-management record. If the online data and the court file disagree, the court file wins.

Records That Are Sealed or Confidential in McCurtain County

Expunging a court record is free, but sealing an arrest record carries a $150 OSBI processing fee, paid by cashier's check or money order. A person who wants a file sealed should confirm eligibility, then file the right petition in the District Court where the case occurred. The court and OSBI handle the rest.

In-Person and Mail Court Record Requests

When a case is too old for the online window, or a search comes up empty, the Court Clerk runs a manual search. The office sits inside the McCurtain County Courthouse at 108 N.
